Job Details:
● Salary: Depends On Qualifications
● Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. (Enjoy every Friday afternoon off!)
Responsibilities:
● Perform inspections of all phases of plumbing, sewer, water services, and residential heating
● Observe violations of codes and issue orders for corrections
● Follow up on compliance orders, including court appearances
● Issue plumbing permits for all types of buildings
● Consult with contractors, architects, and the general public regarding code provisions
● Prepare reports and maintain necessary records
● Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent
● Plumbing license as required by Wisconsin State Statutes 145.05 (1)
● A minimum of six years of related experience
● Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
● Strong knowledge of city and state codes, practices, and safety precautions in plumbing
● Skill in inspecting plumbing and heating installations for compliance and identifying violations
● Ability to communicate effectively and enforce regulations with firmness and tact
● Capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public
● Capability to work required hours of the position
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
● Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and bending
● Ability to work in various environmental conditions
