Responsibilities:
● Installing, diagnosing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of plumbing systems
● Repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining domestic hot and cold-water systems
● Understanding various drainage and vent systems for effective maintenance
● Identifying different piping materials and using proper tools and methods for repairs
● Soldering, brazing, threading, and using pro-press techniques
● Installing and repairing plumbing fixtures and appliances
● Handling installation and repair of gas piping
● Utilizing basic electrical knowledge for appliances, lift stations, and water heaters
● Safely operating drain cleaning and inspection equipment
● Determining requirements for parts, materials, and tools needed for repairs
● Operating specialized machinery and tools for plumbing maintenance
● Installing, repairing, and inspecting backflow preventers
● Maintaining tools and supplies in an orderly condition
● Performing related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
● Minimum 3 years of experience through an Apprentice School, Technical School, or relevant job experience
● Valid Georgia driver’s license with insurability during employment
Preferred Qualifications:
● Knowledge of plumbing best practices and theory
● Backflow Certification
● Journeyman or Master Plumbing license
● Medical Gas Certification
● Confined Space Certification
● Experience with heavy equipment operation
● Understanding of Health and Safety regulations
● Familiarity with basic record-keeping techniques
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Characteristics:
● Strong mechanical maintenance skills in plumbing systems
● Ability to interpret plans, diagrams, and specifications
● Effective communication skills, both oral and written
● Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently
● Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Working Conditions:
● Ability to climb, lift, and work in various environments
● Moderate exposure to elements such as temperature changes and construction hazards
● Occasional local and out-of-town travel to job sites
