Key Responsibilities:
● Gain hands-on training and skill development in various trades, focusing on plumbing.
● Assist and learn to perform preventative maintenance for building systems.
● Support repairs to facilities structures and systems, including plumbing and mechanical work.
● Identify repair and maintenance projects that require contractor assistance.
● Maintain records related to preventative maintenance and repairs.
● Respond to city emergencies and ensure facilities remain operational.
● Operate a city vehicle safely and report any maintenance needs.
● Know and understand all safety procedures.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● One year of general work experience, including trades or labor (education in facility maintenance can substitute for work experience).
● Valid driver’s license.
● Knowledge of tools, recordkeeping, and safety procedures.
● Basic computer skills.
Working Conditions:
● Work both indoors and outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions.
● Be prepared for potentially hazardous conditions and physical lifting (up to 75 lbs).
● Unconventional working hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
Salary: $20.77 – $27.34/hr based on qualifications and experience.
This position is eligible for full city benefits, including:
