You will play a crucial role in installing vital piping systems in water and wastewater treatment facilities, contributing to cleaner and safer communities.
Responsibilities:
● Lay, align, and join process piping (Ductile Iron, PVC, Stainless Steel, RCP) using mechanical, flanged, and restrained joint systems.
● Interpret P&IDs, mechanical blueprints, and grade stakes to ensure installations meet precise elevations and specifications.
● Assist in the installation and alignment of process equipment, including pumps, valves, clarifiers, and mixers.
● Select and use tools for cutting, threading, and connecting pipe. Manage rigging and signaling for the safe movement of heavy pipe and equipment.
● Use pipe lasers and transit levels to verify slopes, inverts, and alignments.
● Enforce OSHA standards for trench safety (shoring/shielding) and Confined Space Entry.
● Support hydrostatic and pressure testing of completed piping systems to ensure leak-free operation.
Qualifications:
● Experience in pipefitting or pipe laying, specifically within plant, industrial, or heavy civil environments.
● Proven ability to check grades and interpret complex industrial plan sets. Familiarity with various jointing methods for pressure and gravity systems.
● Proficiency with pipe-cutting equipment, threading machines, and precision leveling tools.
● Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in varying weather conditions and confined spaces.
● Reliable transportation and the ability to work out of town as required by project schedules.
● Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening/physical.
● Authorized to work in the US.
