Responsibilities:
● Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, drains, and water heaters.
● Conduct inspections of plumbing systems to identify and diagnose issues.
● Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan plumbing system layouts.
● Collaborate with clients, contractors, and team members on project requirements.
● Estimate materials, equipment, and labor costs for plumbing projects.
● Perform installations and repairs on plumbing fixtures such as sinks and toilets.
● Use tools to cut, thread, and bend pipes when necessary.
● Clean job sites and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
● Weld, solder, or join pipes using appropriate methods.
● Test plumbing systems for leaks and ensure they function properly.
● Troubleshoot plumbing problems and provide effective solutions.
● Adhere to plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards.
● Mentor junior plumbers and helpers.
● Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
● Coordinate with suppliers to procure plumbing materials and equipment.
Health & Safety Roles & Responsibilities:
● Report any unsafe acts, conditions, or hazards to your supervisor immediately.
● Correct substandard acts or conditions within your area of control.
● Use and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
● Never remove safety devices prescribed to be in place.
● Participate in safety initiatives and report incidents or injuries as prescribed.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent; plumbing apprenticeship preferred.
● Proven experience as a Plumber Helper or Apprentice.
● In-depth knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
● Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
● Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Strong attention to detail and physical stamina.
● Valid plumbing license/certification preferred.
● Valid driver’s license required.
Working Conditions:
● The position involves physical labor, working indoors and outdoors.
● Must be able to work in various weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments.
● Availability to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
