Responsibilities:
● Inspect, install, repair, and maintain water, sewage, drainage, steam, gas, oil, and air piping systems and fixtures.
● Read blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine proper layout for assigned tasks.
● Prepare detailed estimates of materials, supplies, and time needed for projects.
● Install, repair, and maintain valves, fittings, pumps, heaters, and related items.
● Operate hand and power tools as needed, following written or oral instructions.
● Maintain stock of supplies in the assigned vehicle, managing tool inventory efficiently.
● Follow all state and local codes and regulations during work tasks.
● Complete service requests and work forms documenting time, materials, and task completion.
● Train or mentor others in safety and plumbing practices, when necessary.
● Keep the work area safe, clean, and organized.
● Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
● High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
● Minimum of four (4) years of experience in plumbing and pipefitting, which can include:
– One (1) year at a technical school and three (3) years of field experience.
– Completion of a four-year apprenticeship in plumbing and pipefitting.
– Job-related experience totaling 4000 hours.
● Technical training must comprise both classroom study and practical experience of no less than 1300 hours in relevant subjects.
● Master Plumber or Journeyman Plumber license required for job grade 14 pay rate.
