CAP Government, Inc. is excited to announce an immediate opening for a licensed Mechanical Plans Examiner and Inspector. Responsibilities:
● Conduct examinations of building permit applications, including blueprints, specifications, surveys, product approvals, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code.
● Prepare written and electronic reports, and issue notices of correction as needed.
● Recognize, evaluate, and resolve unique problems or situations that arise during inspections.
● Meet with design professionals, contractors, and other parties to discuss technical code issues during the plan review process.
● Prepare and maintain all required records and reports accurately.
● Inspect buildings and facilities for compliance with the Florida Building Code and related regulations as assigned by the supervisor.
● Perform additional duties as directed by the Manager.
Qualifications:
● Must possess a State of Florida Plan Review License (PX) in building or a State of Florida Inspector License (BN) in building.
● ICC Residential & Commercial Plans Examiner and/or Inspection certification in building is preferred.
● Knowledge of the Florida Building Code and other regulations related to construction and development is essential.
● Ability to understand and interpret codes, evaluating project proposals to verify compliance with requirements.
● Certification or eligibility for certification as a Building Plans Examiner by the Miami Dade and/or Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA) is a plus.
