Responsibilities:
● Perform technical inspections of plumbing, gas, and fire suppression systems for compliance with NYC codes.
● Investigate accidents, incidents, and complaints related to plumbing installations.
● Assess the condition of gas piping systems.
● Witness tests on various plumbing systems for code compliance.
● Study drawings and documentation for inspection details.
● Issue violations, summonses, and stop work orders as needed.
● Verify licenses of onsite workers.
● Maintain accurate records and make detailed reports.
● Enforce relevant laws and regulations in the plumbing field.
● Supervise and evaluate the work of subordinates when applicable.

Qualifications:
● Two years of full-time experience as a plumber or inspector in plumbing installations.
● One year of experience plus a year of formal training in an accredited plumbing program or related field.
● Sixty college credits in civil engineering or closely related fields; or completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program.
● Licensed professional engineer or registered architect is a plus.
● Preferred: Experience in the design of plumbing and fire systems, and familiarity with NYC construction codes.
