You will perform essential inspections and work in the field, including:
● Conducting technical inspections of plumbing, gas, and fire suppression systems for compliance with NYC Construction Codes
● Responding to and investigating accidents, incidents, and complaints
● Assessing the condition of gas piping systems
● Witnessing tests on various plumbing systems and reporting any violations
● Reviewing drawings and other documentation for inspection purposes
● Issuing violations and summonses when necessary
● Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports
● Providing guidance on laws and regulations relevant to plumbing
● Training and supervising subordinate staff as needed

The ideal candidate will have:
● Two years of full-time experience as a plumber or inspector of plumbing systems, or
● One year of experience plus formal education in plumbing, or
● 60 credits toward a degree in a related engineering field, or
● Completion of a minimum two-year plumbing apprentice program
● A valid New York State motor vehicle driver license
● Strong command of the English language

Preferred Skills:
● Experience in the design of plumbing and fire sprinkler systems
● Working knowledge of NYC Construction Codes
● Computer literacy
