Position Summary:
As a prefab shop plumbing apprentice, you will assist in supporting commercial construction projects by fabricating plumbing systems in a controlled shop environment. This entry-level position is perfect for someone wanting to learn and grow in the plumbing industry.
Responsibilities:
● Assist with commercial plumbing fabrication for projects including healthcare, government, education, and more.
● Prefabricate hangers and supports for various piping systems.
● Regularly use basic hand tools and accurately read a tape measure.
● Help with fabrication requests using materials such as copper, steel, PVC, and PEX.
● Package finished goods and assist with loading delivery trucks.
● Work off ladders and man lifts safely.
● Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
● Current and valid Apprentice plumbing license.
● Eagerness to learn how to read blueprints and shop drawings.
● Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read a tape measure.
● OSHA 10-hour certification preferred.
● High school diploma or GED preferred.
● Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Additional Requirements:
● Maintain a positive, teachable attitude and show initiative.
● Comply with and promote the company Safety Policy.
● Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
● Regular and punctual attendance is vital.
● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs comfortably.
● Pass a full background and drug screening, an MVR check, and a physical ability test.
● Willingness to travel for projects as needed.
Working Conditions:
You’ll perform your duties in a controlled prefabrication shop, with occasional outdoor work. Safety is our priority; you’ll always wear PPE and follow all safety procedures.
