Responsibilities:
● Oversee day-to-day workflow of the purchasing department and staff
● Conduct performance evaluations for team members
● Handle disciplinary actions and terminations following company policy
● Create and manage external purchasing processes for our construction-related projects
● Develop and refine internal purchasing practices
● Use accounting systems to streamline purchasing applications
● Establish sourcing strategies and manage supplier relationships
● Negotiate contracts for cost savings and policy formulation
● Provide analytics to support the management team
● Own the Cost of Goods (COG) budget and perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, supply-chain, or a related field
● 5 to 8 years of purchasing experience
● Valid driver’s license in good standing
● Construction background preferred but not required
● Familiarity with SAGE accounting system is a plus
● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software
Standards of Performance:
● Strong analytical and communication skills
● Must work effectively under stress and meet deadlines
● Demonstrate initiative and the ability to manage multiple tasks
● Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks
● Maintain confidentiality of company information
The working environment involves both office settings and physical tasks, including occasional lifting and prolonged desk work.
